5 comments:

  1. Quality of lip syncing -
good quality lip syncing but one bit the wrong word was mimed to the original word on the track

    Shot variety -
good use of angles and movements, we really liked the change from mid angle to low angle during the conversation shot. And when Rachel shakes her head in time with the music is really good.

    Mise en scene -
really good use of props to create characters, and the use of costume is really good also.

The originality is also good -
the story line fits with the lyrics and the storyline is reflecting the emotions of the song and characters

    Genre Characteristics
really good the video fits the music pop's genre.

    Visuals / lyrics
really in time a good the lyrics related to the visuals by when the word love is sung rachel moves in closer to steve

    Voyeurism
really good the tights and the sexual dancing protrays office women in a stereotypical way

    Jess, Tom and Amy

    Goodwin's points.

  3. Quality of Lipsyncing - the quality was very good except for the wrong words at 1:01!
The video links to the genre of rap with the bright, harsh colours in the pyschiatric room and the black and white of the flashback. The music and visuals link as Rachel taps her pen and her foot to the beat. This makes the audience more aware of the beat. The audience feel voyeurism when Steve sings to the camera and we feel like we're seeing something we shouldn't when Steve and Rachel are in black and white. Selling the artist as Steve sings straight to the camera.
The camerawork is steady where it is supposed to be. There is also a variety of shots, including the panning. The mise en scene also links to the video as he is talking to a pyschiatrist and he is talking to someone in the lyrics. The video is original but it quite similar to the original video for the song by Plan B. The video is very good and well planned.

  4. Some areas of the lip syncing were really good, however towards the end we felt it was slightly over exaggerated. The use of shots were varied and imaginative. We liked the clip at the beginning where Rachel is tapping her feet to the beat. When rachel flicks her head to the beat it is very effective. In terms of mise en scene the props and costumes used were relevant to the characters they were meant to be and it gives it more originality. When the camera tracks down the legs and then cuts to steve looking in the direction of the legs its a good use of voyeurism. well done :)

  5. The lip syncing performance was well done with a lot of emotion shown. Technically it was also very exact and precise. The black and white colours represent a rap/pop song however there is little dancing. Uncommon for a pop video. Leading to the conclusion that this is song should fall under the rap genre. The music and visuals are very illustrative with cuts often changing to the beat of the song. The lyrics and visuals are not very illustrative but do well to create mood and atmosphere.
